Cousin Dan's Hendrick's Gin and Cucumber Magic

My Cousin Dan, his girlfriend Meghann and I spent the better part of last summer hanging out in the evenings drinking gin and tonics. We love gin and tonic. I always have a great time when I hang out with them, and it isn't just because of the gin.

This past Thursday night they invited me over to Meghann's house for some cocktails.

Cousin Dan totally impressed me with his fantastic twist on the classic g and t (um notice that those happen to also be my initials). Armed with a bottle of Hendrick's gin, a cucumber and a bottle of tonic, he made one hell of a drink.

If you've never had Hendrick's gin before, you might be thinking that mixing it with cucumber is a bit odd, but Hendrick's is a cucumber based gin so it is perfect. In fact, Hendrick's is one gin that I don't prefer with lime. It is though, my favorite gin.

Here's the step by step of what he did:

First he diced cucumbers and placed them into a strainer.

Then he poured the Hendrick's gin over the cucumbers (a quick infusion).

Third he added a splash of tonic to the glass.

Finally he garnished it with a slice of cucumber.

Holy cow, was it delicious. Thank you Cousin Dan for your beverage making magic!
