My sister, Dana, is getting married 1 week from today! Along with her other bridesmaids, we recently hosted her bachelorette party in Boston.
Charity, Lauren, Liz and I had been emailing back and forth for a couple of months trying to come up with Dana's perfect celebration. Her good friend Maya also joined us for the festivities.
We started our afternoon at a great little salon on Newbury Street, MiniLuxe, for manicures and pedicures. They were really great to us there, and the staff was all very excited for Dana!
With freshly painted nails, we walked from the salon to Copley Square to check into our suite at the Westin (which happens to be the hotel where Dana will be getting married). I duped Dana into showing me the room where her cocktail hour will take place, while the others went up to the room to decorate a little! When Dana and I made it up to the room, we opened a bottle of champagne (which turned into 4) and danced to the mix that Dana had put together for the event! We then got all dressed up to go out to dinner.
We made our way to Eastern Standard where we had a fabulous table. Liz and Lauren had gone to the restaurant early with gift bags for each guest. The restaurant decorated the table with floral arrangements left over from a party the night before. We also had a bottle of prosecco chilling on the table for our toast.
After our toast, we all ordered a round of drinks from Eastern Standard's outrageous drink list (each drink is handmade with fresh fruit, herbs and ingredients).
We ordered a few appetizers for the table -
Crispy calamari with a lemon aioli.
A grilled flat bread with camambert, olive and tomato.
Steak tartar with cornichons and a baguette.
We knew as a group we were going to get the calamari and the flat bread. They're easy to share in a group and sounded delicious. Liz looked at me from across the table and told me that the steak tartar was the best she's ever had. That she dreams about it. It was decided, we needed one of those too!
Interestingly four out of the six of us ordered the same exact entree! A grilled flat iron steak served with Bearnaise and herb fries. The steak was tender and charred on the outside. The Bearnaise was creamy and tart. The fries were crisp (I kept the Bearnaise as a dipping sauce for my fries, rather than the steak, which was so flavorful, it didn't need it).
Dana and Charity both ordered the linguine with clams. Both licked their plates clean!
We were so full, we didn't even order dessert, besides, we had a long night of dancing ahead of us! Though, the restaurant did bring us over an after dinner drink!
From the restaurant we went back to the hotel to freshen up and walked down the block to a bar with a basement dance party. We danced until our feet hurt and then retired to our suite.
It was a perfect night with and fantastic food and great drinks!
